George Duran @ Wegman's

So last week I headed up to Wegman's to see George Duran.  It was a blast- he is very funny and gives a great show.  He even blind folded people to do a taste test (just like on his show "Ham on the Street").  He was promoting his new cookbook called "Take this Dish and Twist it"

One of the dishes he made was a Granny Smith Guacamole- that was a basic guacamole recipe and he added pieces of Ganny Smith Apples.  It was very nice and the pieces of apple added a nice crunch to it!

He also made a Caesar Salad Summer Roll, which is basically, a regular Caesar Salad you eat with your fingers because you roll it up in rice paper.  They can be messy but it was fun to eat it that way!

He also showed use a quick and fast dessert- take oranges and section them and break up a chocolate bar (he used dark chocolate) and then sprinkle the chocolate pieces over the slices and serve.  It is very tasty together and cleanses the palette.

I heard this guy on the radio the morning of his Wegman's appearance. Some of the dishes sounded really quirky - but good. Like pepperoni pizza soup? Interesting, I might have to get the cook book :)
