An interesting twist

Last night I met up with someone at a local Starbucks for coffee.  I like coffee but I don't make it at home unless we have company- and I rarely ever order it when we go out.  But I like or I should say love is Hot Chocolate.  

Now normally I am not much of a chicken to try new things (most of the times) but last night I was a little leery of trying a drink at Starbucks called Salted Carmel Signature Hot Chocolate.  It consists of a sweet and salty combination with their Signature Hot Chocolate and the flavors of buttery caramel and smoked sea salt. It is then topped with whipped cream, a swirl of caramel and a sprinkle of our sea salt topping - a combination of artisan sea salt and Turbinado sugar from Hawaii.

Now I love things like Take 5 bars and Chocolate covered pretzels that combine sweet and salt- but I was just a little leery over this.  So I came home and read about it on their website.  Now I need to go back and try it...

When I saw this, I was so excited. Every time I've stopped by Starbucks since they announced it, though, I've really needed the caffeine so I've passed.

I tried it this morning with a shot of espresso, still got a bit sweet for me towards the end.
