It’s the 30th
Anniversary of director Barry Levinson’s film, DINER, which was set in
Baltimore around Christmas of 1959. To celebrate the Anniversary of Barry’s
first film, the Maryland Film Festival will screen a full set of Levinson’s
Baltimore films in the lead-up to a large DINER screening on Dec 10th
with Levinson and cast (Kevin Bacon, Ellen Barkin, Paul Reiser, Mickey Rourke
and more) attending, and participating in a conversation after the film.
The majority of the
film is shot at The Hollywood Diner (400 E Saratoga St), which still exists,
but moved locations.
